The IAPG Houston has officially launched its 2026–2027 term following its annual General Assembly, where members reflected on the past year and welcomed the new leadership. Outgoing President Richard J. Spies highlighted the institution’s key achievements and initiatives, before passing the baton to incoming President Carola Rawson. Carola presented the priorities for the new term, alongside the formal appointment of the new Board of Directors and Deputy Directors. We also extend our sincere appreciation to our 2026 corporate sponsors for their continued support of the IAPG Houston and its community.

The IAPG Houston recently welcomed industry professionals to an engaging webinar on the use of tracer diagnostics in surfactant huff and puff operations for unconventional reservoirs. The session explored practical applications, field experiences, and emerging techniques to optimize enhanced oil recovery while providing attendees with valuable technical insights from leading industry experts.

The IAPG Houston is proud to announce the recipients of the Claudio Manzolillo Scholarships for the 2026–2027 academic cycle, one of the cornerstone initiatives of our mission. This year, three outstanding Argentine professionals will receive support from our institution to pursue Ph.D. and Master’s degrees at leading universities across the United States. We extend our heartfelt congratulations to Santiago Callerio, Clara Lucca, and Federico Verrastro on this remarkable achievement. We also express our sincere gratitude to our sponsors, whose continued commitment makes it possible to sustain and expand the positive impact of this program across our community.

The IAPG Houston proudly hosted its annual Offshore Technology Conference Cocktail, once again providing an outstanding opportunity for professionals across the industry to connect and strengthen relationships. The evening was marked by great camaraderie as attendees enjoyed excellent food and drinks while exchanging experiences, exploring new ideas, and identifying opportunities for future collaboration. Our President, Richard Spies, welcomed guests and sponsors and highlighted the organization’s key achievements and milestones over the past year.

The IAPG Houston served as the platform for a strategic dialogue on LNG, bringing together Argentina’s national and provincial authorities alongside Mr. Horacio Marín, Chairman and CEO of YPF. We were also honored by the presence of Mr. Ernesto López Anadón, President of IAPG, our parent organization. Through keynote presentations, a panel discussion, and a dynamic Q&A session, the event underscored the critical role LNG exports will play in Argentina’s energy future and the importance of collaboration among all stakeholders involved.

The IAPG Houston hosted a reception and networking event that brought together young professionals and students from across the oil and gas industry. Some young professionals traveled from Argentina as of the Global Immersion Program, while others belonged to our Houston-based community of young professionals. We also had the honor to welcome students from the Universidad de Buenos Aires (UBA) and the Instituto Tecnológico de Buenos Aires (ITBA), who recently competed in the SPE’s PetroBowl competition. It was a wonderful evening filled with camaraderie, meaningful conversations, and opportunities to share experiences and build connections. We also celebrated the UBA’s team remarkable victory at this year’s PetroBowl!
