IAPG Houston President’s Note 2021

I am delighted to be introducing the first of our new series of quarterly Newsletters. In this period of change brought by COVID-19 we understood that we needed to be closer to you sharing our activities, accomplishments, and point of views with you. Any feedback from you is always welcome.

2020 was a year with significant challenges not only for our Organization but also to many other companies in our and other industries. Still, the IAPGH wrapped up another very successful year thanks to our outstanding Board of Directors and the continuous support from our sponsors and members

One of our goals this year includes defining and executing a more professional communication routine, which includes this newsletter and a wider use of social media.  This effort is aimed at continuing to expand our membership base and reaching a broader audience of particularly younger talent that may be interested in our longstanding Scholarship Program.  We are proud that, since 2012 to date, the IAPGH has funded 18 scholarships to young argentine professionals willing to pursue graduate studies in the US.

In this Newsletter, we will also provide you a summary of recent events, such as our Webinar on December 1, 2020, which featured Argentine’s Secretary of Energy Darío Martinez and the Argentina’s Ambassador to the United States, Dr. Jorge Arguello.  We opened our annual series in November with a webinar that featured Welligence Energy’s Ross Lubetkin (CEO) and Ruaraidh Montgomery (Director Research). In addition, our Young Professionals Committee organized an event with our current scholars where they shared with the audience their experience studying in the US. More than 400 people participated in our 3 events so far.

We are excited to announce some of our upcoming events.  Our Forum Committee is actively organizing webinars that will include senior executives from companies who will participate in our new Energy Transition Series, our CEO Series, as well as other relevant energy-related events.  We hope to be able to host our Annual Golf Tournament this coming spring.  Be on the lookout for more information.

Thank you for joining us in our inaugural newsletter.  We hope you enjoy it.  Let us know what you think at office@iapghouston.org.
