The IAPG Houston had the honor of hosting Mr. Horacio Marin, CEO of YPF since December 2023, as part of its ongoing CEO Breakfast Series. The event took place at the prestigious Petroleum Club of Houston, a venue that fostered collaboration among executives from E&P and OFS companies that operate in Vaca Muerta.
In his presentation, Mr. Marin shared the remarkable success story at YPF, which has led to a threefold increase in the company’s share price over the past 14 months. Under his leadership, YPF has significantly boosted shale production, refocused its upstream portfolio on Vaca Muerta, and driven operational efficiencies across its entire value chain. This progress has been supported by enhanced artificial intelligence utilization, expanded midstream infrastructure, and a redefined approach to drilling and completions in Vaca Muerta.
Looking ahead, YPF is poised for further transformation. Mr. Marin outlined key milestones for the Argentina LNG Project, which will catalyze substantial upstream and midstream investments. This project is set to position Argentina among the select group of LNG exporting countries over the next decade.
