The IAPG Houston had the honor of hosting a working breakfast featuring Argentina’s Secretary of Energy Flavia Royón, ENARSA President Agustín Gerez, the Deputy Secretary of Energy Planning Maria Cecilia Garibotto, the Deputy Secretary of Institutional Coordination Maria Florencia Alvarez Travieso, and the Deputy Secretary of Macroeconomic Planning Germán Plesser. Attendees included about 30 representatives from our major sponsors and the country’s main energy players: CGC, Chevron, Equinor, Excelerate Energy, ExxonMobil, Halliburton, Pan American Energy, SLB, Shell, Tecpetrol and TotalEnergies.
Secretary Royón provided a description of the progress that the government has made in growing infrastructure and production in the country’s oil, gas and renewables sectors. ENARSA President Gerez shared an update on the company’s plans and financing activities. Deputy Secretary Plesser described some of the macroeconomic challenges that the country is experiencing and the efforts the current government has undertaken to resolve them. These presentations were followed by an open question & answer session, where the attendees had the opportunity of a frank dialogue covering the main topics in the cu
rrent environment in the country.
We also discussed the agenda for the upcoming Argentina-Uruguay Offshore Conference to be held in Houston on May 4th, 2023.
